As far as work and cars go, I still think that being a Top Gear presenter is the best job in the world. Second best would probably be being a priest since priests can get luxury SUVs for free from the government.
I should not have pinned my hopes on my skill at stringing words together to get me close to some really nice cars. I should have entered the seminary the first chance I had. With the rate I make my money, I could only literally dream of owning any car worth more than a million pesos.
I spent my teen years in a school where the priest drove around in a BMW. I should have probably saw the signs early on that priesthood and cars would be a great match. They already make a spectacle of eating and drinking on the job. Who’s stopping them from pootling around in style?
Not a day goes by that I pity myself for settling for a wee Korean hatchback. Worse is that I’m still paying for the horrid experience and will continue to pay for it for the next two years. 12 percent of which will be going to the government in form of tax. So yeah, I really feel like I got the short end of the stick in this career thing.
