Quite frankly, being a Japanese car driver (having driven a Toyota, a Nissan, and a Mitsubishi) I used to have a lowly view of Hyundai. Let’s be honest, Hyundai had a reputation of shoddy build quality from back in the nineties. But that has surely changed of late. I know own one but while I won’t say I’m fully satisfied with it, I’d say that the car has come as a pleasant surprise.

Hyundai Asia Resource, Inc. (HARI/Hyundai Philippines) has announced that it posted a 3% growth for its sales figures in Jan to April 2011. Though keen observers may contest that since HARI posts their figures on their own since they dropped out of CAMPI.

That comes to no surprise whatever to me. I initially thought that I’d be a bit unique to drive around in an i10 when everyone else is driving a Vios but not anymore. You’d see plenty of Hyundai

Hyundai made a killing selling these small cars (together with the Getz) and those who can afford more have gone for their “pogi” CUV, the Hyundai Tucson. Quite frankly, if I had a million to spare, I’d buy one too.

With the release of the updated Sonata and Accent that feature Hyundai’s latest aggressive design language.
