The recovery hasn’t been really much of a recovery, really. But some really rich folk who had enough of a buffer to weather out the recession, still are rich. And these are exactly the same people who remain to be Merc’s market.
Probably why they decided to add yet another car in their Grand Edition lineup with this new GL model. The Grand Edition version adds a few more luxuries to the GL – 20-inch rims, two-tone leather seats, and black ash wood trim.
Outside, the crossover gets dark-tinted headlights and a redesigned fascia with a black radiator grille and revised front bumper which features LED running lights.
If you’re just curious at how grand this thing really costs, well, prices start at €80,206 ($112,716) for the GL350 CDI BlueEfficiency Grand Edition up to €99,127 ($139,292) for the GL500 range-topper. That’s Php 4.9M to 6.05M at direct conversion not including possible tax and whatnot. I’d rather buy me a house.
