For us here, Mercedes-Benz has always been a badge associated with the rich. It doesn’t really matter if the car’s an old model or one of the new bunch, a Chedeng’s a Chedeng. Suck on it, peasants!
(But yeah, never mind if base Mercs are used as med-rep vehicles and taxis in Europe.)
However, once you get a better perspective of the motoring world in a global scale, you’d know that Merc does other things too like motorcycles, buses, and even bicycles. Take the Unimog for example.
Unimogs are all-wheel all-purpose medium-sized trucks produced by Merc. And to commemorate the Unimog’s 60 years of existence, Merc decided to build this radical Unimog concept.
Forget about the specs, it’s the looks that gets you. Based on the current U500, the concept was built by Merc’s Special Trucks department to embody Merc’s take on the future of commercial vehicles.
The open-top design is based on a poison dart frog. They even colored it green not for the frog but to pay homage to the first Unimog. The passenger cell are colored silver while the coil springs are colored red. The car sits atop chrome rims.
