Automaker usually keep their cars under wraps prior to the official unveiling but thanks to the Internet, we now see a glimpse of the upcoming 2016 Audi R8 Spyder convertible.
The 2nd-generation R8 convertible is set to be unveiled at the upcoming New York car show. There are a few tweaks akin to the updated hard top model released last year.
Powering the car is the 5.2L V10 that dishes out 532 bhp. The old 4.2L V8 has already been dropped from the updated hard top version. Rumors have it that a twin-turbo 2.9L V6 might be an option as a way to penetrate the Chinese market.
Like the 1st-gen soft-top, the new model will continue to have a fabric roof that folds into the rear deck unlike the folding hard-top that’s becoming popular with recent convertibles like in the Ferrari California and the Mercedes SL.
Too bad the guy in the spied photo doesn’t look like Tony Stark at all.
