The North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) has finally been integrated just in time for the Holy Week. Travel time from Balintawak going to Subic is now expected to get trimmed by around 40 minutes.
Part of the integration is converting the NLEX and SCTEX toll collection systems into one system. Previously, you have to get a new card, stop and pay toll at least a couple of times over to get to Subic. Metro Pacific built 7 toll plazas in order to trim the stops.
One of the reasons why we prefer staying in the Metro during Holy Week is because of the unnecessary hassle of going through the expressways be it the north or the south one. We hope that this would ease the choke points created by the toll stops.
