With Uber and Grab essentially dominating the ride share service market, shuttle sharing service U-Hop hasn’t gotten as much buzz. That should change now.
Six months after filing for accreditation, LTFRB has finally accredited the service to operate as a transportation network company – one of the new classification of transportation available to the riding public.
Unlike Uber and Grab, U-Hop that offers alternatives to regular taxis, U-Hop takes aim at the shuttle services like UV Express and similar but colorum transport services.
U-Hop can seat 7 people at a time. It’s U-Hop’s vision to lessen vehicles on the road by accommodating more people in a vehicle. U-Hop will also not be implementing demand and traffic-driven price surges.
We think this is a novel idea though it makes us wonder how booking with other people will actually work. U-Hop is open in providing services to companies who are interested in carpooling.
