We’ve been wowed by the Toyota C-HR concept that Toyota unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show last month. The prospect of it coming up against the blossoming crossover market here is just exciting and the chances of that happening has gotten much more realistic as Toyota announced that it will build the C-HR.
However, there might be a little wait as it is expected to go on sale in the US in the early half of 2017 as a 2018 model. The production version will still be months away. Toyota will continue to showcase the concept in the upcoming New York car show.
Initial reports on its Euro specifications indicate that it may pack a 1.2L turbocharged engine that produces 115 horsepower. Depending on the overall weight of the thing, this might be just right. Though packing it with a 2.0L won’t hurt at all. Better yet if it shares the same engine as the FT-86 given that the styling reminds us of a tall coupe anyway.
