What we have here is an early leak of a production rendering of the new Suzuki Swift. The Swift has been in the market for going on six years now so fans would have been quite happy that a new Swift is set to be revealed later this year. It’s expected to hit showrooms in 2017.
At first glance, there seems to be very little change as the silhouette is still pretty much the same. The front fascia with the headlights, grille and fog lamps have been updated. The door handles for the rear doors in the five-door variant are hidden too in order to give it a coupe look.
What changes significantly is the engineering inside. The base model might get a new 1.0L gasoline engine and the sport variant might sport the 1.4L with a six-speed manual. The current Swifts in the Philippine market pack either a 1.2L or 1.4L.
The Swift has its following here particularly due to its styling. Some might comment that it tries too hard to be a Mini Cooper and I might agree. And with the price of the 1.4L, one might be hard pressed not to go for the Honda Jazz instead.
