Last season made McLaren’s Jenson Button look like a fluke after failing to contend seriously despite being the defending champion. This win in Canada, at least earns him a few credibility points that he seriously needs.

Wonderkid and defending champion Sebastien Vettel took pole position for Red Bull but was passed in dramatic fashion in a rainy race in Canada. Vettel ran wide which gave Button enough space to power on through for the win.

Michael Schumacher drove his best race yet after making a comeback last year by nearly clinching third and a podium finish but was thwarted by Red Bull’s Mark Webber.

The race was not without incident with five safety car periods and was even stopped for two hours thanks to a heavy downpour. The McLarens were initially in trouble after the Button collided with teammate Lewis Hamilton.

The win, however, does very little to put a dent on Vettel’s dominance this season. The second place finish still puts him 60 points in the lead with 161 points. Button follows second while Webber is still in third place overall.
