Mercedes-Benz‘s fifth-generation E-Class boasts of safety and comfort features expected of the executive car segment. But if you want a beefier ride, here’s an AMG variant for you. Now, just ahead of the New York motor show, Merc reveals the E43 AMG.
What you get is a AMG-spec twin-turbocharged V6 that’s been tuned to dish out 395 bhp despite having the same 3L engine that powers SLC 43 and C43 thanks to larger turbos in the E43.
Power is delivered to the wheels through Merc’s 4Matic four-wheel drive system equipped with six modes – Eco, Comfort, Individual, Manual, Sport, and Sport Plus. The Air Body control suspension system is also retuned to accommodate some spirited driving brought about by the new drive settings.
Style-wise, I’m not too fond of the tame front-end and the sloping lines at the back but I’m sure that AMG badge would up its pogi points a bit.
